We Animate Things

An anthropomorphic penguin (except with claws instead of flippers) stands in a dark dungeon. He has a backpack rigged with rocket engine cones and a light that rises above the goggles strapped to his head. He's wearing a suit of armor that glows with traces of arcane energy, with a large purple crystal on its chest. A smaller one is on the back of his hand, holding a crossbow that appears to be powered via a pneumatic tube running to his backpack rather than a bow and string. He stares off image to the right towards what must be casting the shadow of a goblin on the wall behind him, as he pops the cork off a bottle of a glowing potion. Behind him, barely visible, a red kobold watches while holding a white dragon wyrmling on a lead.

Eduardo 1, the first incarnation of Eduardo! In this version, he’s a dohwar artificer – a merchant from Wildspace and the Astral Sea, who after a deal with some githyanki went bad, escaped via a shipboard teleportation circle….only to find himself stranded on the “backwater” world of Toril, without a way home.

That hasn’t kept him from using his knowledge of a peculiar magic called “science” to build his own equipment for adventuring and making a living, however….
